1. High Country Motor Lodge - Flagstaff Hotel

    A mid-century motor lodge on Route 66 that actually lives up to the nostalgia without making you suffer for it. The rooms swap the original scratchy bedspreads for proper beds and vintage blankets, and someone had the genius idea to stock them with tape decks and mix tapes. There's a Nordic spa for the outdoorsy crowd rolling in from the trails, and the on-site General Store serves breakfast and Roman-style pizza to guests who look like they finally slept well.
