A 1957 spiral staircase, suspended from the ceiling by a metal frame, is the first thing that stops you in the lobby of this Eixample hotel. The building was once the Cotton Producers Guild headquarters, and the frescoed ceilings and ornate tiles remain, though interior designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán kept it from feeling like a museum. Outdoor terraces, a restaurant, and modern rooms complete the picture. Forbes Four Star.
