The Best Cocktail Bars Near Bar Havana Club, by the Record

  1. Attached to the Havana Club rum museum in Old Havana, this cocktail bar is done up as a 1930s-era drinking room, all dark wood and period detail. The museum tour technically ends here, though skipping straight to a daiquiri is a defensible life choice. The rum is the point, and the setting makes the glass taste like context. Coach tours roll through, so timing is everything.

  2. Rank 2. Parque Central

    Cocktail Bar

The rooftop poolside bar in the newer wing and the lush conservatory lobby in the original building split the difference between colonial grandeur and something almost Mediterranean. Both pour from the same menu, heavy on premium spirits and classic cocktails with garnishes that mean business. For Havana, that kind of consistency is its own small miracle. Come for a daiquiri while the city hums below.

The score comes from the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin star outweighs a listicle. When you sort by what's nearby, distance changes the order, never the score.

          Best Place Score

The Best Place Score rates the area around a point, not any one place. Most of it is the record: the scored places within reach, weighed by distance, so more good stuff nearby means a higher score. The rest is how life is in that country: how people there rate their own lives, how long and how well they live, how safe they are, and what they breathe. If it looks low, we probably haven't found enough critics out here yet.
