Ahilya by the Sea

A nine-room retreat on Dolphin Bay in Goa, selected by the Michelin Guide, where the owner's decades of collected art and sculpture give it the feel of a well-traveled friend's house rather than a hotel. Three villas each take a different direction: East African tribal pieces and a balcony over the water, antique furniture under a vaulted terracotta roof, or laterite walls and wide sea-facing windows. Dinner moves around the gardens each evening.
