  1. Al Gambero

    Lombardian Italian

The risottos have been famous here long enough that nobody quite remembers when they weren't. Al Gambero is an old-school institution in a small Lombardian town, the kind of family-run restaurant where the service is formal but warm and the cooking leans on classic technique without getting dusty about it. Roast kid, long-standing signatures, a Michelin star: the place has been quietly doing its thing for generations and shows no sign of stopping.

    One honor, in evidence:

    The record strongest first

One number, weighted & current 86

Eat Score

The score comes from the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin star outweighs a listicle. When you sort by what's nearby, distance changes the order, never the score.

          Best Place Score

The Best Place Score rates the area around a point, not any one place. It runs on the scored places nearby: more good stuff within reach, higher score. If it looks low, we probably haven't found enough critics out here yet.
