Alberca
Extremaduran Spanish
A stone mansion in Trujillo's old town, its best tables set on a covered interior patio where dinner feels more like trespassing in a very good way. This contemporary Extremaduran restaurant runs on oak embers, a fixation the chef carried back from a stint at the Basque grill Etxebarri. The result is traditional regional cooking sharpened with fire and smoke. The Michelin Guide awards it a Bib Gourmand, and the chef tends to wander over to explain why.
