A large stone fireplace anchors the room at this rustic Istrian konoba, and it does double duty: atmosphere and actual cooking, including veal slow-roasted under an ember-covered bell. The menu leans heavily on meat, served in portions that assume you skipped lunch. The dessert list sneaks in a vanilla ice cream finished with dark chocolate and a pour of house olive oil, which sounds fussy until you try it. Michelin gave it a Bib Gourmand.
