Rose-pink pavilions rise among date palms just outside Marrakech, the whole compound modeled loosely on a sultan's palace, with Moorish archways, mosaic floors, and lanterns that earn their keep at dusk. Amanjena is a small luxury resort, 32 suites and pavilions, each arranged around its own private courtyard. On site there's a spa, tennis, golf, a Moroccan restaurant, and an izakaya with a robata grill, which is either an odd pairing or a very confident one.
