A first-floor dining room in the Appenzell hills, low ceilings and wood panelling doing exactly what low ceilings and wood panelling are supposed to do. This is a traditional Swiss restaurant with a Bib Gourmand, running a menu of veal liver, rösti, and Chateaubriand for two, with the meat coming from the restaurant's own butchery. The tram to St. Gallen stops nearby, which is either convenient or a reason to stay for one more round.
