A converted manor house outside Monthey with a terrace that looks out over the Valais valley, the kind of view that makes you order another glass just to stay put. Inside, the coffered ceiling and old parquet floor set a quietly formal tone for French contemporary cooking served as a short set menu. Five guestrooms upstairs mean you can treat the whole evening, drive and all, as someone else's problem.
