1. Baglioni Hotel Luna

    Staying steps from Piazza San Marco doesn't get more storied than this. The Luna is a grand Venetian palazzo hotel where the rooms have silk walls, marble bathrooms, and ceilings painted by students of Tiepolo, so you're basically sleeping inside a museum that also does room service. Guests arrive by private canal, which sets the tone nicely. The crowd wears good luggage and has done this before.
