This Left Bank hotel near Place d'Italie trades boutique-hotel theatrics for something quieter: oil portraits on the walls, a lobby that doubles as a winter garden with a fireplace, and a minimal-service setup that tops out at a cheap breakfast and Parisian beer. The kind of place where the design is doing the heavy lifting without announcing itself.
