A modernist concrete structure grafted onto a 1940s mountain inn, this is the only luxury hotel in the Serra da Estrela mountains, and the architects knew exactly what they were doing: full-length windows frame the Glacier Valley from every room, terrace, and the glass-walled restaurant. Wool and wood warm the contemporary rooms, a spa and panoramic pool round things out, and the Michelin Guide awarded it one Key.
