Eight hundred and twenty-five acres perched at the edge of Great Smoky Mountains National Park, with twelve miles of trails for hiking and horseback riding threading through the property. Cataloochee Ranch is a mountain resort that's been around forever but has shed the rustic-rough edges for something considerably more comfortable. An on-site restaurant, Switchback, takes High Country cooking and puts a French-trained hand behind it, which is not a sentence you expect to write about Maggie Valley.
