    The façade here was designed by Ma Yansong to evoke nerve tissue, which either sounds unsettling or intriguing depending on how you feel about neuroscience as architecture. This 29-story hotel in Chaoyang puts you close to the CCTV building and Silk Street, with 289 rooms done in calm beige, marble soaking tubs, and floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over the city or Tuanjie Lake Park.
