    A mid-range hotel about five miles from Savannah's historic squares, the Courtyard keeps things low-key: many rooms open onto balconies or patios facing the pool courtyard, and there's a fire pit outside for evenings when you'd rather not drive anywhere. King rooms come with pull-out sofas, which explains the families. An onsite bistro handles breakfast and dinner, so you're not stranded if you don't feel like going out.
