A shepherd who takes guests along on his rounds supplies the bistro here, which says quite a lot about the philosophy of this forested lodge near Hoge Veluwe National Park. The lodge has been around forever, and the rooms, forest cabins, and converted farmhouse all lean into the surrounding woodland rather than competing with it. A lobby fireplace and outdoor firepit handle the evenings, and workshop space draws retreat groups who need trees nearby to think straight.
