A chef who spent years cooking in Madrid before coming home to La Mancha, and the windmill country outside is the whole point. El Retorno sits inside a rural hotel but runs its own room, serving traditional Spanish cooking that leans on the landscape, migas, wild boar, venison, that sort of larder. Tasting menus are the move here, bookable in advance for the whole table, so this is a plan-ahead lunch stop rather than a spontaneous one.
