Adrián Herrera has a big name in Mexican food circles, and this is decidedly not his flashy flagship. It's a laid-back neighborhood fonda where the cooking runs to homey stewed goat and encacahuatadas, the kind of food that doesn't need a pretty plate to make its case. The room is unpretentious, the drinks are good, and nobody's performing anything for anyone. Exactly the sort of lunch spot you'd hope a well-connected local would text you about.
