Roughly a hundred overwater bungalows on stilts above a South Pacific lagoon, with Mount Otemanu filling the window and a private marine sanctuary below. This Four Seasons resort sits on its own motu off Bora Bora, reached by boat from Tahiti, which is half the point. The villas are enormous enough that stilts apparently weren't an option. Surprisingly easy with kids, which means couples get their solitude delivered by itinerary rather than geography.
