    A sturdy old inn at the center of a Black Forest village, Gasthof Hirsch has been around forever and leans into it: the decor is warm and well-worn, the cooking is classic country German with enough depth in the sauces to make you pay attention. Guestrooms are available if the schnapps situation gets out of hand. The front-of-house charm is part of the draw, and the regulars clearly know it.
