The half-timbered building alone would pull you in, but the weekly changing vegetable-forward set menu is the real reason to make the drive to Neuenstein. This is a small, warm contemporary dining room where the chef grows his own vegetables through a farming collective, ferments and pickles in-house, and bakes the bread. Fish comes from line fishers off Brittany, and nearly everything else is local. Three rooms upstairs if you'd rather not rush home.
