halbedel's Gasthaus
Modern French
A Wilhelminian villa in Bad Godesberg, yellow and white façade, stucco ceilings, parquet floors, and a chef who has held a Michelin star since 1984 without apparent interest in letting go. This is fine dining in the classic French mode, with modern touches folded in and produce pulled partly from the chef's own garden. The handwritten wine list is a nice detail, and the chef will talk you through it himself, which in this register of restaurant is rarer than it sounds.
