Old coaching inns make natural boutique hotels, and this Berkshire example has been doing it long enough to make it look easy. The 30 rooms are split between the original coach house and a cluster of outbuildings, each with its own character. The pub kitchen runs from a proper English breakfast through seasonal dinner menus, so there's no real reason to leave, which is presumably the idea. Selected by the Michelin Guide.
