Alois Neuschmid earned a Michelin star at his previous restaurant, then opened this one on the same lake and did it again. The terrace over the Tegernsee is the obvious draw, but the kitchen holds its own: evening brings a four-course surprise menu built around regional produce, where a single ingredient often arrives two ways. Lunch is looser, more schnitzel than ceremony. The whole room feels unpretentious for the level, and the chef tends to wander out and say hello.
