A Black Forest hotel that's been around forever, tucked into the wine village of Durbach, with a patchwork of old stone and newer construction that somehow holds together. Rooms lean contemporary inside the historic shell, the restaurant takes local cuisine seriously, and the spa adds mindfulness coaching to the usual steam-and-soak formula, which is either very 21st century or a sign they've seen too many burned-out guests come through.
