Perched near the top of Positano's steep hillside, this boutique hotel started life as a private residence, and the rooms still feel more like a borrowed house than a lobby operation. Thirty-eight rooms, a rooftop pool with the kind of views that make you cancel your afternoon plans, a small spa, and a complimentary shuttle to the beach for anyone unwilling to negotiate the steps twice in an afternoon.
