    The bar-cum-pasticceria means you have a credible excuse to stop in at almost any hour. Il Calandrino is a contemporary Italian restaurant run by the same family behind the three-Michelin-starred Le Calandre next door, and the cooking moves between creative seafood plates and old-school house favourites that regulars have been ordering for years. The room is elegant without being stiff, and the chocolate layer cake with zabaglione alone justifies the detour to Rubano.
