  1. Inter Scaldes

    Modern French

A manor house in the Zeeland countryside where the walk between courses is literal: after appetizers, guests are invited past the open kitchen to watch the team at work and collect an extra dish along the way. This is fine dining, two Michelin stars, with a chef who pulls from Frisian roots and local waters in equal measure. The curved seats and garden-facing extension keep things from feeling stiff, which is a small miracle at this level.

    Two honors, in evidence:

    The record strongest first

One number, weighted & current 93

Eat Score

The score comes from the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin star outweighs a listicle. When you sort by what's nearby, distance changes the order, never the score.

          Best Place Score

The Best Place Score rates the area around a point, not any one place. It runs on the scored places nearby: more good stuff within reach, higher score. If it looks low, we probably haven't found enough critics out here yet.
