At 4,200 feet on the Seefeld plateau, this sprawling alpine resort sits at the end of its own mountain road, which tells you something about the commitment level required. Wood-paneled interiors, vaulted ceilings, and stone fireplaces keep the 274 rooms from feeling like a generic ski lodge. The panoramic pool in the enormous spa appears to hover above the peaks, which is either very calming or slightly vertiginous depending on the day.
