Suites built from upcycled train carriages sit at the edge of a jungle lake just outside Khao Yai National Park, which tells you immediately that this resort is not doing the usual thing. Designer Bill Bensley brought the local railway history into the rooms, so they're longer and thinner than most, with plunge pools or outdoor tubs squeezed in cleverly. A spa, Thai and French-accented dining, and a UNESCO park on the doorstep round things out. The Michelin Guide awarded it one Key.
