Steel and glass rising out of dense forest at the edge of Jiuzhaigou Valley, this is a large resort in one of China's most dramatic mountain landscapes. Nearly a thousand rooms fan out from a central dome that holds six restaurants, ranging from Sichuan and Tibetan to Western, plus twelve terraced pools under a glass roof. Rooms are luxurious without being showy, and the layout gives the place a quieter feel than its scale suggests.
