The village around this luxury resort was nearly swallowed by Crete's largest olive grove after most residents left in the mid-20th century. Stone archways, wood-beamed ceilings, and an old olive mill are now the bones of the hotel itself, which holds a Michelin Key. The cocktail bar sits on a shaded terrace, there's a pool ringed with flowers, and the fine dining restaurant cooks in an open-air kitchen. Quieter than quiet.
