A bar built into the altar sets the tone at this converted Gothic church, where the vaulted nave, stained glass, and surrounding cemetery have been kept more or less as found. It's a sixteen-room hotel in a small Zeeland town, selected by the Michelin Guide, four kilometers from the coast and an easy drive from Bruges and Ghent. Sleeping under centuries-old arches is either deeply peaceful or mildly haunting, depending on your disposition.
