Designers Neri & Hu turned a former apartment complex in Da'an into this boutique hotel, and the residential bones still show in the best way. Each evening Kimpton does its signature social hour, wine and light bites included, which removes the usual check-in awkwardness entirely. Tavernist, the in-house restaurant, has a Noma alum in the kitchen. The rooftop terrace looks out over the city, and the Michelin Guide awarded it one Key.
