  1. Old oak rafters and bare brick walls set the tone at this farmstead restaurant outside Binche, where the terrace leans into the rural setting as hard as it can. The chef sources local produce with the dedication of someone who has been doing this a very long time, and the menu is squarely classic Belgian, steak-frites-and-pepper-sauce country. The Michelin Guide awarded it a Bib Gourmand, which feels about right for a place this unfussy and this comfortable in its own skin.

    One honor, in evidence:

    The record strongest first

One number, weighted & current 74

The score comes from the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin star outweighs a listicle. When you sort by what's nearby, distance changes the order, never the score.

          Best Place Score

The Best Place Score rates the area around a point, not any one place. It runs on the scored places nearby: more good stuff within reach, higher score. If it looks low, we probably haven't found enough critics out here yet.
