The hotel has been sitting on the port at Hyères long enough to have a cameo in Godard's Pierrot le fou, and the facade still looks the part. Inside is another story: 14 rooms, each handed to a different artist with an apparent brief of no restraint whatsoever. The roof terrace runs yoga by day and cocktails by night. The Michelin Guide has it on their selected hotels list, which feels like an admirably straight face.
