A riverside terrace shaded by plane trees, on a quiet stretch of the Lez just outside Montpellier's center, is a fine reason to seek out this Michelin-starred restaurant. The chef, a former second at the Carré des Feuillants, works squarely in the Languedoc-Roussillon pantry: eels from the Camargue, Lucques olives, whatever came in that morning. The old country house setting feels like a happy accident, and the cooking is quietly confident.
