An old oil mill in one of Provence's prettiest villages, converted by the Beaumier group into a 35-room boutique hotel where the original stonework stays put and the rooms dress themselves in warm linens and sunlit color. The library runs to painters of Provence, the pool is small and lovely, and the bar does a creditable apéritif. Lourmarin itself rewards a wander, and Marseille is an easy drive if village life gets too bucolic.
