A half-timbered restaurant tucked into an arcaded medieval square in a very remote corner of the Aveyron, which is itself a very remote corner of France. The current family, originally from Normandy, took over from a long-standing predecessor and kept the focus on serious local ingredients, including Vieux Rodez cheese, the region's answer to Parmesan. A handful of guestrooms upstairs means you don't have to navigate dark country roads afterward.
