Les Bois Flottais

White stucco and terracotta cottages arranged around two outdoor pools, split between the beach and Le Bois-Plage-en-Ré's market streets, which means you spend the whole stay unable to decide which way to point the borrowed bicycle. Rooms run to vaulted wood ceilings and that breezy ivory-and-blue palette that Île de Ré seems to produce on command, some with lofted beds, others with private patios. The onsite bistro leans into lobster and oysters; the wine is from the island.
