  1. Les Cèdres

    Classic French

Cedar trees shade the terrace of this classic French restaurant tucked between Romans and Tain-l'Hermitage, the kind of place that has no interest in being discovered by anyone in particular. The brothers who run it, one in the kitchen and one in the dining room, cook to a Michelin star without any of the performance that usually comes with it. The food is rooted in flavor over technique, the welcome is warm, and the whole thing feels quietly, stubbornly itself.

    One honor, in evidence:

    The record strongest first

One number, weighted & current 86

Eat Score

The score comes from the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin star outweighs a listicle. When you sort by what's nearby, distance changes the order, never the score.

          Best Place Score

The Best Place Score rates the area around a point, not any one place. It runs on the scored places nearby: more good stuff within reach, higher score. If it looks low, we probably haven't found enough critics out here yet.
