A former Baptist church in Holborn, dressed by Jacques Garcia in jewel-toned rooms with an Art Deco birds-and-butterflies motif running through every surface. The hotel holds a Michelin Key, and the whole project reads as a love letter to Oscar Wilde, which means the decadence is the point rather than a side effect. Classic bistro fare downstairs, the British Museum and the Royal Opera House around the corner.
