A Napoleon III mansion in the heart of Vichy, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, sets the stage for Jacques Decoret's one-Michelin-star French restaurant. It's a family operation, with his wife running the room and his sons cooking savory and pastry respectively, which gives the whole thing a warmth that formal dining rooms don't always manage. The cooking leans inventive, drawing on Auvergne producers, with a dessert paying tribute to the town's famous pastille candy.
