    Old Hollywood gets a Riviera Maya address at this 20-room boutique hotel two blocks from the beach in Playa del Carmen's town center. Monochrome film stills and the occasional Art Deco flourish break up an otherwise minimalist interior. The rooftop pool and bar are the social heart of the place, with views over the city and sea and an all-day menu of Mexican food. Rain showers and blackout curtains handle the rest.
