Southern Thai
Named for a character in a Thai folktale about twelve sisters, this cozy Southern Thai restaurant on the Lower East Side opens with cocktails named for the rest of the family. The menu is compact and the spice levels are not. Southern Thai and Isan dishes carry real heat and personality, and the coconut ice cream served inside a coconut shell is the only sensible way to end things.
