The timber-framed facade and ornamental turrets outside Dinkelsbühl make Meiser look like it's been standing since the medieval town next door was built, though the whole thing is considerably newer than it appears. Inside, exposed beams and stone fireplaces share space with contemporary lines, and rooms range from sleek to full country-house, with plaid sofas and knotty pine. The spa, with indoor and outdoor pools, is the real engine of the place, drawing guests who tend to stay for days rather than nights.
