Monte Uzulu Boutique Hotel

San Agustinillo is still mostly a fishing village, and Monte Uzulu is betting it stays that way a little longer. This small boutique hotel takes the traditional palapa form, thatched roofs and all, and rebuilds it in a contemporary idiom without losing the plot. Jungle on one side, one of the Oaxacan coast's calmer beaches on the other. The whole thing reads as deliberately unhurried, which is either the point or a happy accident.
