Lavender fields have replaced the old vineyards here, and they frame the view over the Danube Bend that makes the whole place make sense. This small hillside hotel sits about an hour from Budapest, its cottage-like buildings barely distinguishable from the scenery. Rooms are named for local herbs and flowers, there are no TVs anywhere, and a glass-walled common room with a fireplace handles the gap. The Michelin Guide has selected it among its hotels.
