A country-house hotel in the Ribble Valley, on the edge of the Forest of Bowland, where the restaurant has held a Michelin star since 1996 and the table remains the main event. The 26 rooms and suites are all different, leaning more contemporary than the oak-panelled exterior might suggest. A cooking school runs alongside everything else, in case one meal here isn't quite enough to get the point across.
